Healthy Afghan yogurt sauce
Posted on August 21st, 2011 No comments
Here’s something good from Afghanistan, this easy recipe for a low calorie, but tasty, yogurt sauce. Eat with lamb meat, bread or even with fries, instead of mayonnaise.Ingredients:
- 250 ml (8.5 fl.oz.) Greek, Turkish or Bulgar yogurt, preferably the Greek yogurt from Total with 0% fat(!)
- About 8 pièces of garlic
- 50 gram (1.8 oz.) of fresh dill
- A few spoons of olive oil
Chop the garlic and dill in very small pieces and put them in a bowl together with the yogurt and olive oil. Add some black pepper and stir well. You can add some more dill and garlic according to taste.
Great with Lebanese bread or Turkish kofte!
Buon appetito!

Magic Mint sauce recipe

Inspired by the mint sauce you get at a lot of Indian restaurants around the world I brewed my own with some mediterranean influences. It’s easy, healthy and great with any lamb meat, for example Greek souvlaki. Here’s the recipe for my magic mint sauce.
Ingredients:- Fresh mint (about 2 cups of leafs)
- Garlic (1 or 2 cloves)
- Stem Ginger (2 or 3 pieces)
- Dried chili pepper (2 or 3) or fresh chili pepper (1)
- Olive oil (2 spoons)
- Onion (1/2, preferably red)
- Tomato (1/2)
- Lime (1/2)
- Salt (a teaspoon)
